International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world each year on 8 March to acknowledge the gains women have made over the years and to bring to our attention the issues that still face us. Most of all, it is a day to celebrate and recognise the difference and achievements that women have made and continue to make.
The Illawarra IWD committee includes leading business women from the Illawarra region who are working together in conjunction with other groups of women in the community, to organise the week of activities leading up to International Women's Day.
The activities will be about celebrating the gains of women in the Illawarra and to bring attention to the issues that still exist. This time will also be used to recognise the difference that women have made, and will continue to make to the region.
