Type of volunteer work involved: A range of hands-on activities like removing weeds, planting native species, and controlling erosion to restore and protect local natural environments. As well as activities such as seed collection, litter cleanup, and educating the community to enhance local ecosystems for both people and wildlife. Paterson River and tributaries from the confluence of the Hunter River upstream to the Port Stephens Council boundary. Williams River and tributaries upstream from Raymond Terrace to the Port Stephens Council boundary. Herbicides containing active ingredient 600g/ kg Metsulfuron methyl and/or active ingredient 360g/l glyphosate will be used. Residents in the Riverside Park Raymond Terrace 8am to 2pm treatment area should not use, drink or swim in the water during the period of treatment. Small scale reapplications may occur within 30 days of the date of the original treatment.
